HOMUNCULUS (Latin, ‘little man’)

HOMUNCULUS (Latin, ‘little man’) is the visual representation of parts of the body according to what area of the brain controls them. Sensation and movement of different parts of the body are controlled by different areas of the brain. For instance, when you move your index finger, a specific area of your brain triggers a signal that tells the muscles in your index finger to move.
